Like the majority of people, I never imagined I would write a book. As a saying goes, “Life has its own way of teaching and showing you the way.” It is up to the individual whether to follow or ignore the direction.

My misfortune in losing two diamonds illuminated such a road for me (my parents). I was #grieving.

During this time, I began writing to help me feel closer to my parents by allowing me to relive their lives through their eyes. I didn’t realize it until it turned into a book with the title Extraordinary Experiences of an (Extra) Ordinary Girl (https://shorturl.at/ostE7).

Though I didn’t notice it at the time, my two youngsters were unwittingly mimicking my every move (as they thought it is a fashionable thing to do).

There came a point when I had to hand in my manuscript to the publishing house. Once again, my children saw this and decided it was not something they could replicate.

With their respective notes in hand, they approached me and asked, “Can you also submit it?”

When I saw these notes, I had to know what they were, so I asked.

Abeer and Shanayaa (unanimously): Like you, we wrote…

Me: That’s great that you wrote it.

Shanayaa and Abeer: Just as you gave your notes to Uncle you spoke to on phone, please give him ours as well.

Me: I wrote a book.

Abeer and Shanayaa: So we have too..

Joy, which I cannot adequately describe, filled my heart when they finally responded to my subtle prodding.

That’s why I made up my mind to have their notes published as well…

This is how.

Leo’s Adventures: Runaway to the Solar System by Abeer Tandon (https://amzn.to/3VBrkWw).

Tales of Super Shanayaa-Incredible Coco by Shanayaa Tandon (https://lnkd.in/dR6iuyM2).

got published as well…

We are now a family of three authors by chance…
